Chris Bischoff is COO at Kinnevik Capital. Prior to joining Kinnevik, Chris was the Managing Director of Technology, Media & Telecom Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs where he worked for 12 years.
Chris holds an MBA from INSEAD and an MA from the University of Bristol.
Mohd Khairil Abdullah
Chief Executive Officer Axiata Digital Services
Khairil was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Axiata Digital Services in January 2015. He first joined Axiata in 2012 and served as Group Chief Marketing and Operations Officer.
Khairil holds a BA (Engineering) and MEng from the University of Cambridge, UK as well as an MBA from INSEAD, France. Prior to Axiata, Khairil was a Partner at Bain & Company, Inc., a leading global management consultancy. He was with Bain for more than 15 years and worked out of various offices in the firm, including San Francisco, Munich, Sydney, Tokyo and Shanghai. He has built a strong track record of helping his clients in the telecommunications and other industries achieve major improvements to their strategic positions and operational performance. In 2008, Khairil returned to Southeast Asia to help Bain grow its telecommunications practice in the region, based out of Singapore. Prior to joining Bain, Khairil was an operations consultant at Coopers & Lybrand, Management Consulting Services. He also had a stint running a tech start-up based in Southeast Asia.
Head of M&A at Millicom
Anja is Head of M&A at Millicom International Cellular SA. Prior to joining Millicom in 2013, she spent five years as an independent TMT and emerging markets consultant working with companies such as Discovery Communications, Dixons Retail and Millicom. She also spent four years as a TMT Investment Professional at Warburg Pincus International. Anja started her career at UBS investment bank in London and Johannesburg in 2001.
Anja is also a board director of Helios Towers Africa and Africa Internet Group (Jumia).
She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Humboldt University of Berlin.
Executive Vice President Africa for Millicom
Mohamed joined Millicom in 2008 and has held a broad variety of roles in the Africa region, including Chief Financial Officer in Chad in 2009 and Chief Financial Officer in Ghana in 2011.
Most recently he was appointed Chief Financial Officer for the Africa region in August 2015.
Prior to joining Millicom, Mohamed worked for BESIX, the largest Belgian construction company. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Brussels as Senior Accountant.
Mohamed holds an Executive MBA degree from London Business School.
Cynthia Gordon was elected a Director of the Board of Kinnevik AB in 2017. She is currently a member of the Board of Tele2 and was until February 2017 CEO of the Africa Division at Millicom.
Prior to joining Millicom in 2015, Cynthia spent three years at MENA and Asia Pacific telecommunications company Ooredoo as Chief Commercial Officer, and also spent nine years at Orange as Vice President, Business between 2001 and 2006, and Vice President, Partnerships and Emerging Markets between 2009 and 2012. Between 2007 and 2009, Cynthia was Chief Commercial Officer at the Russian/Eastern European communications company MTS.
Cynthia holds a BA Business Studies Degree.
Partner at LeapFrog Investments
Stewart Langdon is a Partner at LeapFrog Investments, an impact investment fund focused on the provision of insurance to low income customers in the developing world. He has over 10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance and private equity. Previously, Stewart worked at Rothschild for 6 years in London and then Dubai. Stewart is also a Chartered Accountant, and began his career with Ernst & Young.
Investment Manager at Kinnevik
Jessica is an Investment Manager at Kinnevik and works with early stage to growth companies. Prior to joining Kinnevik, she focused on investing and advising growth companies at General Atlantic and Goldman Sachs.
Jessica earned an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and a CEMS Master in International Management from the University of St. Gallen.
Stephan Wilcke is a Plural Director and Private Investor. Stephan joined the BIMA board in 2014 and chairs the audit & risk and the remuneration committee. He is also a board member of TBC Bank Group Plc (the largest bank in Georgia), Chairman of Amigo Loans (the largest guarantor lender in the UK) and a Commissioner of the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
In his career he has been Executive Chairman until the successful IPO in 2014 of UK challenger bank OneSavingsBank Plc, CEO of the UK Asset Protection Agency for HM Treasury, acted as advisor to various European Central Banks in the context of the 2009 financial crisis and served as a Partner and Head of European Financial Services at private equity firm Apax. He started his career at Oliver Wyman where he progressed to Partner level.
Stephan holds an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
