Chris Bischoff - Chairman

Senior Investment Director at Kinnevik

Chris Bischoff is COO at Kinnevik Capital. Prior to joining Kinnevik, Chris was the Managing Director of Technology, Media & Telecom Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs where he worked for 12 years.

Chris holds an MBA from INSEAD and an MA from the University of Bristol. 

Anders Olsson

Senior Vice President, COO at Telia Company

Anders Olsson is Chief Operating Officer at Telia Company and member of the Telia Group Executive Management Team. Anders Olsson worked prior to that 19 years at Tele2. Anders was a member of the Group Executive Management Team at Tele2 from 2002 to 2016 and had several managerial positions at Tele2 including Executive Vice President, CCO and Head of Region Central Europe & Benelux. Anders holds and M.Sc. in BA and Economics from Uppsala University. 

Anders holds an M.Sc. in BA and Economics from Uppsala University.

Stewart Langdon

Partner at LeapFrog Investments

Stewart Langdon is a Partner at LeapFrog Investments, an impact investment fund focused on the provision of insurance to low income customers in the developing world. He has over 10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance and private equity. Previously, Stewart worked at Rothschild for 6 years in London and then Dubai. Stewart is also a Chartered Accountant, and began his career with Ernst & Young.

Jessica Thorell

Investment Manager at Kinnevik

Jessica is an Investment Manager at Kinnevik and works with early stage to growth companies. Prior to joining Kinnevik, she focused on investing and advising growth companies at General Atlantic and Goldman Sachs.

Jessica earned an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and a CEMS Master in International Management from the University of St. Gallen.

Stephan Wilcke

Non-Executive Director

Stephan Wilcke is a Plural Director and Private Investor. Stephan joined the BIMA board in 2014 and chairs the audit & risk and the remuneration committee. He is also a board member of TBC Bank Group Plc (the largest bank in Georgia), Chairman of Amigo Loans (the largest guarantor lender in the UK) and a Commissioner of the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

In his career he has been Executive Chairman until the successful IPO in 2014 of UK challenger bank OneSavingsBank Plc, CEO of the UK Asset Protection Agency for HM Treasury, acted as advisor to various European Central Banks in the context of the 2009 financial crisis and served as a Partner and Head of European Financial Services at private equity firm Apax. He started his career at Oliver Wyman where he progressed to Partner level.

Stephan holds an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Cynthia Gordon

CEO Africa Division at Millicom

Cynthia Gordon is CEO Africa Division within the Millicom group of companies, overseeing the operations of the group throughout the continent. She was previously Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo, which is Qatar's leading communications company, delivering telecom services to 100 million consumers and businesses across the Middle East and Asia. 

Cynthia has experience in both emerging and developed markets and built her Africa experience at Ooredoo as well as while at Orange where she was VP of Partnerships and Emerging Markets.

Tom Craig

Chief Business Officer Africa at Millicom

Tom has 27 years experience in the Telecommunications industry specialising in Business to Business, spanning both fixed line and mobile communications.

Tom was a board member of BT Global Services and subsequently managed Vodafone Group’s global B2B interests and served on the board of Vodafone’s venture capital activities.

For the last 4 years he has specialised in high growth emerging markets with Ooredoo and most recently Millicom Group.
