Regional Manager, Africa
Paddy has responsibility for driving performance and maintaining partnerships within our African markets.
Paddy has considerable emerging markets experience from his previous roles with Aureos Capital and working with the UK Shadow Secretary of State for International Development. Paddy was also a director of an international FMCG e-commerce business with offices in UK and Ireland, and is a founding director of a social enterprise operating in East Africa.
Paddy holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BA (Hons) from Trinity College Dublin.
Head of Operations, Africa
Russell advises our operations across Africa on best practices within sales, call centre and claims functions. He was previously the Country Manager for BIMA in Ghana from 2014-2018.
Russell has five years’ sales and operational management experience in South Africa with the security company ADT Security. Previously he held a strategy role with Tyco in London and was a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company. Russell holds an MA in Economics from University of Cambridge.
Business Development Manager, Africa
Danielle is responsible for defining and executing our expansion strategy across Africa
Before joining BIMA, Danielle built and managed the largest UK government-funded private sector reform project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Previous to this, she worked for Javelin Group, gaining strong experience in consumer-facing and technologically innovative markets. Danielle brings additional experience from her five years volunteering for Kiva.org microfinance.
Danielle holds a First Class degree in Modern Languages (French, Italian) from the University of Oxford.
Strategic Business Analyst, Africa
Andreas joined BIMA's Africa Regional team as Africa Strategic Business Analyst.
Andreas has previously worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst at General Motors Financial, a global provider of auto finance solutions. He was working in the Management Information Team, covering UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland & Sweden where he performed analysis, developed reports and managed projects.
Andreas holds a Degree of Master of Science in Business Administration & Economics from Stockholm University.
Before joining BIMA, he worked for the French retail Group Casino where he was responsible for its E-commerce ventures in Ivory Coast, Senegal and Cameroun. Previous to this, he worked 5 years at building and deploying the Access To Energy Program of the energy giant Total in Asia and Africa. For over 3 years, he was based in Myanmar where he launched a wide distribution network of clean lighting and cooking solutions through field agents and MFI partners.
Damien holds a Msc in Management from ESCP Europe and an Msc in Development Economics from Paris Dauphine University.
Rosy joined BIMA as General Manager of the Ghana operation in 2018.
Prior to BIMA, Rosy spent 9 years in the telecommunications industry across Africa with a focus on marketing, strategy and customer experience. Her most recent role was as Marketing Director of Airtel Ghana, where she had full responsibility over customer experience and mobile money. She also played a key role in the successful launch of Surfline Communications, Ghana’s first and Africa’s largest 4G LTE provider, and also spent five years at Millicom International Cellular (Tigo) where she ultimately took on the role of Head of Brands for all of Tigo’s Africa operations.
Rosy holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts, and a BA (honors) in Computer Science and Mathematics from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts.
Abigail is the HR Manager for BIMA Ghana with an overall responsibility of leading the Ghana HR team and performing all HR responsibilities within the Ghana operation.
She is a certified Human Resources professional, having been certified since June 2013 and has over seven years of practical HR work experiences with specialties in recruitment, employee relations and engagement, compensation and benefits design and management, boasting employee morale and staff retention strategies.
Prior to joining BIMA, Abigail has worked in companies including the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited where she started her career and PZ Cussons Ghana Limited where she worked under Employee Relations/ Policy & Procedure.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana - Legon and a PHR from the Human Resources Certification Institute - U.S.A
Tigo Insurance Business Division Manager
Barbara is responsible for the day-to-day operational running of the Tigo Insurance products and to support the growth of the Tigo Insurance division and maintains strong relations with other Tigo Departments.
Before joining BIMA, Barbara worked with Nestlé Ghana Limited as a marketing and sales development Specialist, and managed Nestlé sachet promoters where she gained significant experience in sales and marketing.
Barbara holds a first class degree in Psychology from University of Ghana.
Claims Trainer & Investigator
Nicholas Normeshie joined BIMA in 2012 and was responsible for the setting up of the first in-house Claims Unit.
Before joining, Nicholas worked with Enterprise Life as a Group Underwriting and Claims Officer and Saham Insurance as a Group Distribution Manager.
Nicholas holds a B.A in Economics and Sociology from the University of Cape Coast and has participated in training programs in Insurance and Financial Fraud Detection, Claims Negotiations and Settlement from the Ghana Insurance College and Project Management from GMI.
Fafa is responsible for managing the Finance, Accounts and tax compliance requirements of Milvik Ghana Limited.
Before joining BIMA, Fafa was an Audit Manager at NMG Consult (now AKA Associates), a private audit firm in Ghana, where she gained vast experience in accounting and audit related areas.
Fafa holds a BSC in Accounting and Information System from the Regent University College of Science & Technology and partly qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants,(CIMA UK).
Mobile Health Division Manager
Christina Tümmers is our Mobile Health Division Manager in Ghana and is responsible for the strategy and operations of BIMA doctor consultation and associated health services.
Before joining BIMA, Christina worked in development finance for the German Investment and Development Cooperation (DEG) in both Cologne and South Africa, where she gained exposure to a variety of industries. She also worked in Transaction Advisory Services for the insurance sector at Ernst & Young.
Christina holds a MA in International Business and Finance with a regional focus on Africa from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
Chief Medical Officier
Dr David Sunu joins us from Urgent Care Hospital in Accra, where he was Resident Medical Officer since 2013. In this role, David provided clinical direction, enhanced the service quality of clients and coordinated the operations of the hospital’s diet clinic. Prior to joining Urgent Care, he held House Officer and Senior House Officer roles at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra and the Eastern Regional Hospital respectively.
Apart from medicine, David has a natural flair for teaching - with a focus on youth development. He has worked as an adjunct lecturer with Ghana’s School of Social Work. He provides leadership for various youth groups and has led many medical outreach programmes in deprived communities across Ghana.
Dr Sunu holds bachelor degrees in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Ghana Medical School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Science from the University of Ghana. He recently graduated from the University of London International Programme with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
Romain has overall strategic and operational responsibility for our Senegal Business.
Romain has 6 years experience in financial services. He worked for a microfinance institutions network in Paris and completed short-term assignments in Syria, Cameroun and DRC. Then, he launched a commercial bank in Tanzania and supported its fast growth as Commercial Manager. After over 3 years in Dar es Salaam, Romain joined Accenture in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he worked mainly on credit-related issues for top tier banks.
Romain holds Master Degrees in Political Sciences (Sciences Po Rennes) and Economics of Sustainable Development (Paris-Dauphine University). He also completed the European Microfinance Programme from the Solvay Business School in Brussels.
Mobile Insurance Relationship Manager
Ferdinand is in charge of developing new products and maintaining mobile operators partnerships for BIMA Senegal.
Before Joining BIMA Ferdinand worked with Tigo Ghana in the HR department. Ferdinand joined BIMA, Ghana in 2010 as the company's first Agent Network Coordinator. He has been instrumental in developing the agent network model used across the group. Ferdinand then joined the BIMA Tanzania team, were he played a key role launching the operation before moving onto the Senegal office.
Ferdinand holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology and information studies from the University of Ghana.
PAYG Business Division Manager
Khady joined BIMA in 2014 and is responsible for the development of the PAYG business model in Senegal.
Before joining BIMA Khady worked for four and a half years at SONAM Assurance Vie (market leader in life insurance in Senegal) where she headed up the Bank Insurance department. Prior to that she had roles as Head of Key Accounts and Head of Sales. Before SONAM, Khady occupied several positions in marketing in Paris, including working with Sidel (Tetra Pak) Paris.
Khady holds a Masters in Marketing and International Relations from Ecole Supérieure de Gestion et Commerce International in Paris.
Luce is Project Manager at BIMA Senegal. She is in charge of Regional/Global projects implementation.
Before joining BIMA, Luce was manager of economic development projects in Haiti within international and non-governmental organizations, such as the French Red Cross and Mercy Corps. Previously, Luce worked at Incofin Investment Management in the microfinance investment industry.
She has a Specialized Master in International Project Management from ESCP Europe Business School, a Master in Political Science from the Institute of Political Science in Toulouse, a Master in European Politics from the Institute of Political Science in Strasbourg, and a Certificate in Project Management from the Project Management Institute.
Customer Experience Manager
Sokhna is our Customer Experience Manager since 2017. She continuously ensures the quality of the customer experience from the subscription to the payment of claims.
Sokhna joined BIMA Senegal in 2012 and grew from sales agent to her current position, acquiring a considerable experience and knowledge of our operations.
Sokhna has a degree in Telecommunications and Telecom Networks and a master's degree in Management Computer Science.
Mamadou is our Financial Manager since April 2017. He is in charge of the accounting, administrative and financial management of BIMA.
Before joining BIMA, Mamadou worked for 4 years as a financial auditor at Kamex, an audit firm.
Mamadou has a Master degree in Audit and Management Control.
Elisabeth Dioh Austry
Communication and Marketing Manager
Elisabeth joined BIMA in November 2017 as Communication and Marketing Manager. She is in charge of the internal and external communication of BIMA.
Before BIMA, Elisabeth worked at Sanofi Aventis France as a trade marketing manager for 2 years. She returned to Dakar in 2012 where she held the positions of advertising manager for the Orange Senegal account during 2 years and a half at McCann Erickson.
She was also communication manager for 3 years in the N°1 company of mineral water in Senegal.
Elisabeth has a Master 2 in Management of SME from Lyon 2 University.
call center manager
Alassane is our Call Center Manager in Senegal since May 2018. He supports agents throughout their integration process and ensures that they achieve their goals continuously.
Before he joined BIMA, Alassane worked for several call centers like PCCI, Quality center, AD Center as sales agent and then as supervisor.
Alassane has a master degree in marketing and international trade from SUP2CO Dakar.
Tom has overall strategic and operational responsibility for our Tanzanian business.
Before joining BIMA, Tom spent over 4 years working as a management consultant with PwC in London. Focused on strategy and operations, he worked with clients in a variety of sectors across Europe, the Middle East and west Africa. He previously spent time with UNHCR in London and UNRWA in Syria, as well as the strategic communications firm, Finsbury.
Tom holds a BA (Hons) from Nottingham University.
New Business Manager
Donald is responsible for the development and launch of new partnerships in Tanzania.
Before joining BIMA, Donald managed the health care service provider network at Strategis Insurance (T) Ltd, where he gained a breadth of experience in health insurance, relationship management and negotiation. In this role, Donald worked with over 350 health care providers all over Tanzania.
He has been at BIMA for over 3 years, and in this time he has coordinated the successful launch of 3 of BIMA’s products.
